About the Project

The Baluchestan Project aims to shed light on the landscape, history, and culture of this little-known region in Iran. For centuries, the region served as a refuge for diverse groups. The region's titular people, the Baluch, have a rich culture and permeable tribal structure. Baluchestan maintained its' autonomy for centuries before it's final incorporation into the Iranian state in 1928. This website provides info and resources on Baluchestan, its' people, and history.
